Project Pelican marks the largest drug bust in our service’s history, with nearly $50 million in cocaine seized and a major transnational organized crime network dismantled.

This success was made possible through Peel Police’s outstanding collaboration with the Canadian Border Services Agency, United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), @rcmpgrcpolice and @dhsgov Border Enforcement Task Force— and special thanks to @ongov , @mppkerzner , our Peel Police Service Board, and the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario.

By stopping these drugs from flooding our streets, we’re building safer communities — together.

A big thank you to the Canada 911 Ride Foundation and the Stellarton Police Service for including Peel Regional Police in the “2025 Canada’s 911 Ride - Atlantic”.

Each year, motorcyclists in Atlantic Canada and Ontario gather for a police escorted ride aimed at honouring first responders who’ve paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

This symbolic tribute raises funds in conjunction with the “Mikey Network” to supply automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in public spaces across Canada and around the world.

Each AED is placed in the name of a fallen hero so they may continue to serve their community even after their passing. To date, these devices have saved 56 lives, including a 6 month old child.

In addition to the foundations life-saving mission, monies raised are used to provide financial assistance towards post-secondary education for the children of fallen first responders.

Our motor officers, Cst. Soares and Cst. Zybala were honoured to assist with the safe escort of this year’s ride across beautiful Nova Scotia ensuring the legacy of our heroes live on forever.

Congratulations to Peel Police Service Board member Al Boughton on his election as Chair of the Ontario Association of Police Service Boards — a proud achievement for both him and the Board.

At the conference, senior members of Peel Regional Police and the Board, alongside Professor @aobempah , presented on key topics, including the role of governance, academia, and police in advancing a human rights–focused, community-centered approach, and building culturally responsive service delivery for a changing community. We appreciate the opportunity to contribute to these important conversations as we continue to evolve in consultation with the Ontario Human Rights Commission.

Today is the National Day Against Gun Violence – a time to reflect on its devastating impact on victims, families, and communities.

Addressing gun violence and removing illegal firearms from our streets remains a top priority for our service.

With 64 illegal guns seized so far this year, we remain focused on confronting those who threaten public safety and cause lasting harm. We are committed to keeping our communities safe and building them stronger – together.
